Chris has been a strong advocate for job creators and entrepreneurs – providing more jobs and opportunities for all of us. He will continue to work hard to help Southern Indiana communities and families succeed.
A lifelong resident of Lawrence County, Chris was raised in Oolitic and currently lives in Bedford with hiswife, Amanda, and their two children, Sydney and Carter.
Protecting the Unborn
Chris is 100% Pro-Life and will always stand for the unborn. Chris has voted in favor of every pro-life bill before the House since being elected. He is endorsed by Indiana Right to Life.Defending the 2nd Amendment
Chris is a lifelong gun owner and supporter of the 2nd Amendment. Chris proudly supported Constitutional Carry legislation as it passed the House in 2021 and 2022. Chris is proud to be endorsed by the NRA.Fighting for First Responders
Chris will always stand with members of Hoosier law enforcement and other first responders. In the most recent budget, he fought for COVID hazard pay stipends and salary increases for State Police officers. While liberal Democrats are defunding the police, Chris May will always “Back the Blue”.
Defending Personal Liberty
Chris supported banning government-issued vaccine passports and protecting Hoosiers from vaccine mandates. He helped ensure religious activities are considered essential during any future states of emergency. Chris also supported legislation to guarantee Hoosiers can visit loved ones in hospitals and health care facilities during health emergencies.Looking out for Hoosiers’ Pocketbooks
As a fiscal conservative, Chris has worked to get money back into Hoosiers’ pockets. Thanks to Chris, over $545 million will be returned via the automatic taxpayer refund. Chris also co-authored legislation that would have produced the largest tax cut in Indiana history.
